The Wedding Dress
You've probably already been looking at lots of bridal magazines, right? Maybe you look at one of the pictures and you say to yourself words like, That's the one! I love that dress! Then you turn the page and decide that you've already changed your mind. And that scenario might happen time after time. However, it's probably still helpful for you to research those bridal magazines because they'll more than likely help you to determine the style of dress you want. Perhaps you want a simple column wedding dress that doesn't have a lot of detail in the design. On the other hand, you might have already decided that this is the one time in your life that you can wear a dress of an elaborate design, maybe one that has things like a long train and ruffles in the design.
Once you've looked through the bridal magazines, think of going to an actual store where you can try dresses on. The one you loved in the magazine might not do a thing for you. However, one that doesn't call your attention on the hanger might look amazing once you have it on. Think of taking somebody, maybe your mother or a close friend, with you so your choice of wedding dress can be validated. The Attendants' Dresses
Giving your bridesmaids a break by selecting, or by helping them to select, a dress that can be worn after your wedding is a thing of the past. In addition, consider that your favorite color might not look that great on your bridesmaids. For example, maybe you love lime green. However, it might be a color that your bridesmaids would never choose for themselves. Consider selecting several dresses that you like yourself and then let your bridesmaids choose from that selection. Have you ever thought of letting your bridesmaids choose totally different dresses for themselves? Perhaps you could just give them some guidelines that are important to you. For example, you might want all of the bridesmaids to wear long dresses. If so, make that clear. Maybe strapless dresses inside of a church are offensive to you. Make that clear, too. In other words, you want your bridesmaids to be happy with the dresses they'll wear in your wedding, but you want them to be something you'll like, too.
